On Thursday, Aug. 3, at 12:33 a.m., Middletown Twp. Police Officers Shane Hall and Aidan Cary, arrested Rajiv U. Bryant, of Emeryville, California, for unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of high capacity magazines, and possession of hollow point ammunition, police said.
The arrest came after officers observed Bryant commit a motor vehicle violation in the area of State Highway 36 and Main Street, in the Belford section of the township.
During the course of the stop, officers observed that Bryant was in possession of the weapon, police said.
Bryant was taken into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, Bryant was taken to Police Headquarters where he was processed and subsequently lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a retention hearing.
